I Am In Love...with ScribeFire

Wow! OMG!! Are you kidding me?!?!? How can it really be this AWESOME!!! Have you tried ScribeFire?!?!?! If you are a blogger and are not using ScribeFire...go there NOW and sign up! Okay, I know, I'm over the legal limit for exclamation points in one blog post but I'm just so excited. ScribeFire is a blog editor in the form of an extension of Firefox. ScribeFire allows bloggers to easily drag and drop formatted text from the Web into their blogs, create links, format text, add images, add videos and post entries to their blog without ever having to leave the page they are posting about. After installing ScribeFire you will see a small paper and pencil icon on the bottom of your browser window. When you click that icon it activates the ScribeFire window and basically gives you a split screen with ScribeFire at the bottom and the page you are blogging about at the top. I have seen some people state they have encountered minor issues when posting straight to their blog. I don't know about that because I prefer to post as a draft to blogger and then go in and upload my images so that they are hosted at blogger and formatted properly for my template. My ability to complete a post has increased at least 100% if not double that. ScribeFire is so feature rich and such a time saver. Loooooooove it!

Redefine the English Language to Get Links and Traffic

India Dictionary is a new site that allows to you search for a word in the English language and, if it is available, redefine it by linking your blog or website to it. India Dictionary is giving away the first 9999 words for FREE! After that, each word will cost $1. Each person is allowed 5 free words and then will pay $1 for each additional word. You can also have your word featured on the India Dictionary homepage for an additional $1. India Dictionary accepts payments through PayPal only at this time. As of the writing of this post, 107 words have been redefined. This is a really creative idea. Get your "words" now before all the good ones are taken.

April Earnings Report...500+% Increase Over March ;)

Up to $1.28 for April for Adsense. Wheeee! Okay seriously, its not much but its better than zero. Its not going to pay any bills but its still fun to keep track. Now if I could just do a 500+% increase next month I might be getting somewhere...hmmmmm...... ;)

Make Sure Your One in a Million...I am No. 945

I am #945 Million Blog List is conducting an experiment to see how long it will take to get 1,000,000 of the over 70,000,000 blogs in existence to list themselves on their site. They started April 10th, 2008 and currently (as of 8:28 am, April 26, 2008) have 1065 blogs listed. Most of the top 10 spots are reserved for different reasons. Number 5 is reserved for the blog that brings in the most blogs. If your not one of the million...what are you waiting for?

Yearblook or not Yearblook

According to their site Yearblook, is...

a contest to find the best blog posts. The best post each day will be compiled into a book (a real, printed book) that is a record of the year in blogs. The Yearblook will be a history of the previous year, as seen through the minds and keyboards of the blogosphere.

Bloggers submit their posts and then readers cast votes for their favorites. The best from each day is added to the book. I think its an interesting idea. One of those great books to read in the bathroom :) full of odds and ends of the previous year. As a graphic design nerd, it freaks me out that their site doesn't have a logo. No branding at all. I kept thinking I wasn't really on the homepage when I was. Also I don't see where it says how the book will be priced or distributed. I get that the bloggers receive recognition and thats a goodie. It just seems weird to me that someone else gets all the profits by using the genius and hard work of the blogosphere. If all or part of the profits went to charity it would make more sense to me. Just not sure....

I'm So Excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a reader subscribed through RSS. WAIT! I just went to my blog & now I have 4!!! I'm so new to blogging that I don't really know what it all means yet but 4 is such a cooler number than 0! I'm just so excited because although I started trying to do this in September 07, I only really got going this month. THANKS whoever you 4 are! Also THANKS to the MyBlogLog friends that have joined my community. THANKS again to Supermomof7 for whose blog inspired me to keep at it. THANK YA! THANK YA! THANK YA!

Thank You Blogger Buster

I searched high and low, far and wide for the right template for my blog... finally...FINALLY!! Blogger Buster had what I was looking for: a 3 column template that...worked...wasn't ugly...and that I could make my own. I changed the colors and created my own header but it seriously took me 4 months to find something to even begin to build on. If you blog and you've never been to Blogger Buster you have to go NOW! Amanda has gorgeous templates and tutorials for customizing your blog so it feels like it really belongs to you. Most comforting to me was being able to understand the directions. Some blog helpers talk so hi-tech that unless you already know how to do it you're not going to understand how they are telling you to do it :) Blogger Buster was a life-saver, well Ok, maybe they didn't save my life, but dang! I'm just so happy with how my blog looks and functions now.

Inspiration to Blog

Supermomof7....Mom to 7 kids, keeper of 8 pets, owner of 15 blogs and 7 Squidoo lenses...never a dull moment! While researching the net on how to earn money I came across this powerhouse of blogging. I orginally came across her blog getting-out-of-debt which inspired me to start my own blog. It has been a long dreary road through a dark forest trying to learn how to do all this stuff but finally... I have a look I like, I have a 3 column template which took forever to find, and I have my niche. My niche is kind of like the premise for Seinfeld...it's about nothing! :) A blog about nothing...whatever I find on the net that makes me laugh, cry, be inspired or adds ease to my life I will post here. I get lost on the net, starting with a specific google request and then something catches my eye and so it goes until I end up far from where I started but have found all kinds of net treasures. So thanks Supermomof7 for daring to make a living from the net and inspiring me to venture out on my own quest for blogging joy.
